You will host the database in your environment on your chosen server. The server may be in-house or virtual. In either case it’s your database and is hosted under your exclusive control. So having a ‘website’ does not mean you must give up control of your data!
The portal does require a live connection to a customer’s Shelter Pro database within their computing environment. This means that a customer’s IT department must allow an outside, secured access to the server where the Shelter Pro database is hosted. This access will be needed for a specific, static IP address that is the portal’s primary sever. Further, the access will be restricted to a specific user ID and password to be established between customer and Shelter Pro Software.
